Who are the Ukelles? Blends of ukuleles, sweet harmonies, upright bass, rhythm with touches of guitar and banjo. As a ukulele ensemble, we add our own spin to some of our favourite songs from the soul of Adele and Amy Winehouse, through to our unique versions of tunes from Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, AC/DC and Guns and Roses. We love helping you get the party started, but also love playing unplugged in intimate spaces semi acoustic.

Caroline West  picked up a ukulele 10 years ago and has been besotted ever since. Her past relationships with guitars, slide dobro and keyboards is almost done. Her ever growing ukulele collection and love of tackling almost any pop song and her own songs on Uke and Kazoo has put a major strain on her family relationships. Caroline has a long history as a performer, playing in bands like Lasso and Sugar moon and doing extensive tours with pop and 7 piece country bands often sharing the same hotel room. As a singer song writer she has occasionally managed to sneak her songs onto records for country artists like Anne Kirkpatrick and the Crosby Sisters. When not playing ukulele , she likes to train for triathlons.

Jodie Young  plays everything. Blink and she will be picking up a ukulele, a banjo, a guitar. Jodie has a background as an acclaimed singer song writer, releasing well received albums and performing solo gigs. But she now realises that playing in a big, unpredictable pop ukulele band is way more fun. Jodie loves a bit of country twang, a heart felt ballad, Patsy Cline meets Ed Shearin. Like Caroline, she has an ever expanding collection of instruments including bass and mandolin. Jodie is still recognised for her quirky TV stories on Wonderworld and is regularly stopped for autographs. She loves the sea, loves the snow and loves walking her dog, who is the size of a small pony.

Michael Vidale  is not only an incredible bass player who plays a mean upright electric bass, but he is a well known music producer working from his St John’s Ambience Studio. Michael has played with many of Australia’s top bands including The Whitlams, Slim Dusty, Peter Wells, the Flaming Stars, the Baylor Brothers and the Flying Emus (who won many Awards including top gongs at Tamworth Country Festival’s Golden Guitar awards) These days, between producing, playing with the ukelles, Michael is touring with Don Walker and the Suave Fucks and the Bushwackers.

Tizza Taylor on drums, washboard, percussion, one of Australia's foremost rhythm kings. A regular member of the popular ukulele band The Fukers.
